Reporting and Enforcement
BeSocial adheres to Australia’s online safety laws. If you encounter behaviour or content that you believe violates these Community Guidelines, you can block and report the user directly through the App. Reports are reviewed by our moderation team, who assess each matter in accordance with our policies (including these Guidelines) and applicable laws. We strive to review and address reports promptly (for severe safety issues, often within 24 to 48 hours). Where a violation is identified, we may take appropriate action, which can include removing content, issuing warnings, restricting certain features, temporarily suspending the account, or permanently banning the user from BeSocial. We will inform you of enforcement actions with a brief explanation, unless informing you is legally prohibited or the issue involves child safety/criminal activity. If we receive a legal request or complaint regarding content (for example, an allegation that content is defamatory or otherwise unlawful), we may remove or restrict that content and/or provide opportunities for resolution in accordance with applicable laws.
Abuse of the reporting system, including knowingly false or malicious reports, may result in penalties (including but not limited to a warning or an account ban). Please note that no one will be penalised for reporting something they genuinely believed was a violation.
Preservation of Data
In serious cases (e.g. credible threats or crimes, including those arising from in-person meetups), we may preserve data and cooperate with law enforcement consistent with legal requirements or as permitted by law.
Appeals
If you believe action has been taken against your account in error, you may contact us at support@besocialapp.co within thirty (30) days of the action to issue an appeal. Actions that can be appealed include but are not limited to account bans and termination and content takedowns. We will review your request in accordance with our moderation procedures and aim to provide a response within fourteen (14) days. We may reinstate content or lift restrictions if a mistake is confirmed.
